How to add stone chip protection to your vehicle
The underside of your car and the wheel wells are particularly vulnerable to wear and tear.
With Maston Stonechip one can easily and effectively protect car parts that are susceptible to stone chipping. It is available as a spray product or in a 1-liter can for spray gun application.
With the stonechips rubber-like composition, it provides excellent resistance to stone impacts while also protecting against rust. Additionally, it offers soundproofing benefits. Maston Stone Chip Protection can be painted over with most car paints.

Required tools
• Maston Stone Chip Protection spray or 1L can
• Cleaning tools
• Protective materials (e.g., big garbage bags/newspapers, and tape)
• Maston Thinner for stain removal
Steps for successful application
1. Preparation
• Choose a suitable location for the application.
• Cover areas you don’t want to treat to protect them from spray mist, etc.
2. Spray or Use a Paint Gun
• Shake the can thoroughly before application.
• Spray the product onto the car’s underside or wheel wells from a distance of about 30 cm.
• For paint guns: use a pressure setting of 4–5 bar.
• Apply several thin coats, allowing each coat to dry partially before applying the next. Wait approximately 15 minutes between coats. For thicker layers, allow for longer drying times.
• Shake the can periodically during use to keep the mixture consistent and ensure even application.
• Coverage: approximately 1.5 m².
3. Drying Time
• Drying time at +20 °C: touch dry in 45 minutes, fully dry in 2 hours.
4. Cleaning
• For stain removal, we recommend Maston Thinner.
5. Overpainting
• Follow the paint manufacturer’s instructions.
• Ensure the coating is fully dry and properly adhered to the treated surface before painting over it.
• Test the paint’s compatibility with the coating beforehand.
Tips for Best Results
• Always work in a well-ventilated area to avoid inhaling fumes.
• Test the stone chip protection or topcoat on a small, inconspicuous area first to confirm compatibility.
• Take your time with each step to ensure a high-quality finish.
