Maston Wood Tar is an unthinned, additive-free tar. It is a versatile product that naturally protects wooden roofs, logs, poles, shingle roofs, boats, ropes, fences, and more. Maston Wood Tar provides wood with a beautiful, translucent, and water-repellent finish. The surface color depends on the number and thickness of the applied layers. Thinning Maston Wood Tar can enhance its absorption into the wood. Suitable application tools include brushes, sponges, or cloths.
Tip:
Maston Wood Tar can be mixed with boiled linseed oil, linseed oil, or Maston Pine Turpentine to create a traditional-style “tar paint.”
• Thinning: Maston Pine Turpentine (max. 20%).
• Tool Cleaning: Clean tools with Maston Pine Turpentine.
• Coverage: Approximately 2–9 m²/l, depending on the quality and dryness of the wood.
• Drying Time: Wood Tar does not dry conventionally but is absorbed into the wood. Once absorbed, the wood surface will feel dry to the touch. Excess tar that is not absorbed should be wiped away, e.g., with a lint-free cloth.
• Storage: Store in a cool, dry place at +5 °C to +30 °C.
• Shelf Life: Unopened packaging remains usable for 36 months from the production date.
